Tshewang Gyeltshen graduated from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He holds Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry and has been working in the Ministry of Health, Royal Government of Bhutan. Besides his experiences as a clinician and administrator in healthcare, he has been involved in depth with volunteer youth organizations within the country and participated in number of international conferences and youth seminars. He has participated in 5th World Youth Congress in Istanbul, 2010; led Bhutanese Delegation to the World Conference on Youth in Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2014 and subsequently participated in Baku Global Forum, 2016. He is also among a very few Bhutanese to have received the Golden Youth Award, the only national level youth award given to outstanding youth of Bhutan. At Yenching Academy, Tshewang hopes to broaden his knowledge on leadership, innovation and management. He also hopes to learn more about China, focusing on its large-scale socialistic economy and diplomatic affairs. He is also interested in Chinese Public Policy and hopes to further horizon his knowledge in it. These in turn, he believes, would bridge the gap between ever growing China and Bhutanese views towards its northern neighbor both at political and economic sense. Tshewang is 27 years old and from the Kingdom of Bhutan.
