2017 Yenching Social Innovation Forum Accepting Applications Now
The Yenching Social Innovation Forum (YSIF) is a student-led event hosted by the Yenching Academy of Peking University. The Yenching Academy is an international Master’s Degree program established to foster a deeper multidisciplinary understanding of China and to cultivate a new generation of global leaders.
Yenching Academy Associate Dean John Holden Receives Chinese Government Friendship Award
John Holden, Associate Dean of Yenching Academy received this year’s Chinese Government Friendship Award- China’s highest honor granted to a foreigner－for his contribution to the nation’s development. This year, 50 foreign experts from 21 countries have received the Friendship Award.
Chinese Paper Cutting
On Tuesday, September 26, students at the Yenching Academy had the opportunity to practice traditional Chinese paper cutting under the tutelage of a renowned paper cutting expert, Ms.Liu Ren.

On September 27th, 2017, the Yenching Academy was pleased to welcome Dr. Mohammed I. Al-Suwaiyel, former Minister of Communications and Information Technology of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to give a talk on Arab Origins of Cryptology & Saudi-Chinese Cultural Interaction.
Hutong Go! Game
On September 7, the third cohort scholars spent the day deep in the heart of the old city of Beijing. With the goal of team bonding and getting to know the city, the third cohort participated in a group bonding scavenger hunt in the hutongs around the lama temple.
